Bio

Daron Larson worked as a social worker in a psychiatric hospital in Kansas and investigated child abuse in New Mexico. He raised his daughter in Columbus, Ohio where he also provided community case management support for people with chronic mental illness, played a horse with an English accent in Equus, ran three marathons, earned a graduate degree in Library and Information Science, taught himself how to create web pages, and did research for a large accounting and consulting firm.

He attended a silent meditation retreat led by Phillip Moffitt in October 2002 and has made his own bed and practiced mindfulness meditation consistently since that time. For the past six years, he has been studying with Shinzen Young whose unique approach to mindfulness practice provides a flexible framework for exploring the components of sensory experience through a variety of practical yet powerful strategies. He especially enjoys attempting to remove the dogmatic barriers which prevent people from experiencing the unimaginable benefits of mindfulness practice.

In addition to working with individuals, in person and over the phone, Daron has enjoyed the opportunity to share mindfulness strategies at the following organizations:
